Liz and Baby Ruby

Hi!  Just letting you know that I had my baby – Ruby Grace Davies born 27th August at 1:55am weighing 3.5kg and 52cm long.  I was very anxious leading up to the labour as this was my second child and my first labour was long and extremely stressfull.  I learnt so much from doing yoga which I believed helped me have a wonderful and fairly short labour with only gas and air for pain relief!  We now have a beautiful baby girl which is a much loved addition to our family!

Karen and Baby Ruby

I just wanted to let you know that our baby, Ruby, arrived on Sun 6 June… We had an intense wondrous amazing homebirth… it was hard work, but worth every bit of it!

Our little girl is so precious and petite – 5.66lb and 46 cm!!  For those that remember me – I’m not a little person, so we keep marvelling over Ruby’s tininess!  She’s breastfeeding voraciously though, so won’t be little for too long!

My mantra through my labour was “just one”… I only had to get through one contraction – or one push – and not let my mind jump ahead to what might be coming next!
